January Luncheon "Revenue Recognition: Impacts and Implementation"

  • 16 Jan 2020
  • 11:15 AM - 1:30 PM
  • National Housing Center, Washington, DC

  • Bronze Members and their substitutes who have attended 2 or less luncheons.
  • For Bronze Members Substitutes where the member has already attended 3 luncheons.

The effective date for FASB’s Accounting Standards Codification 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, is here. This new approach to revenue recognition along with the impact of Accounting Standards Update 2018-08, Clarifying the Scope and Accounting Guidance for Contributions Received and Contributions Made, means big changes for nonprofit organizations and their financial reporting. This session will discuss the impact these two issues will have on your organization as well as best practices for implementation.

Attendees will:

  • Discuss the 5 step requirements in ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Review ASU 2018-08: Clarifying the Scope of Contributions Made and Received and how it impacts implementation of ASC 606
  • Learn how to get started and best practices in implantation of ASC 606 and ASU 2018-08
